The Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka invites applications for registration for the M.A.

Qualifications for Registration:
1. Buddhist Studies:     A degree from a recognized University with any one of the following subjects.

Pali, Buddhist Culture, Buddhist Philosophy or Pracina Pundit Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies from a recognized University.

2. Pali: A degree from a recognized University with Pali as a subject or Pracina Pundit Degree.

3. Sanskrit: A degree from a recognized University with Sanskrit as a subject or Pracina Pundit Degree.
4. Sinhala: A degree from a recognized University with  Sinhala as  a subject or Pracina Pundit Degree.

Fees:
1. Registration Fees:

  1. For Sri Lankan applicants       Rs.         500.00
  2. For foreign applicants

    From SAARC countries              Rs.         500.00
    From non SAARC countries        US$        150.00

2. Tuition Fees:

  1. For Sri Lankan applicants Rs.       8000.00
  2. For foreign applicants

From SAARC countries              Rs.       8000.00
From non SAARC countries        US$       300 00

3. Library Fees:
Library Fees (Refundable Rs.1000/- + Non refundable Rs.500/-) Rs.1500/-

  1. Foreign applicants are allowed to pay tuition fees in two
    installments. All applicants are required to pay registration fees and tuition fees (in full or on installment basis i.e. US$ 300 from non SAARC countries; Rs.6000/=   from SAARC countries) at the time of registration. No applicants will be registered without tuition fees and library fees.
  2. Sri Lankan applicants are allowed to pay tuition fees in two instalments of Rs.4000/ = each. All applicants are required to pay registration fees, library fees and tuition fees (in full or on installment basis Rs.6000/=) at the time of registration. No
    applicants will be registered without tuition fees and library fees.

  3. Medium of Study: Sinhala/English

To obtain application forms:
For Sri Lankan applicants

Application fees (application and syllabus)         Rs.         225.00

For foreign applicants

from SAARC countries                Rs.         225.00

from non-SAARC countries         US$      10.00

For Sri Lankan Students:
Applications can be obtained by post or by calling personally or sending a money order for Rs.225/ = drawn in favour of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka encashable at the post office Homagama. A self-addressed valued Rs.24/ - stamped envelope of 10" x 12" size should be sent to obtain applications by post. The closing date of issuing application is 08.12.2006.

For Foreign Students :
Application forms can be obtained by sending money order or bank draft (A/C No.711201 Bank of Ceylon, Homagama, Sri Lanka).

(During office hours from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)

Venue:
Lectures are conducted at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, No.214, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07.

Eligibility for M.Phil/PhD
In case of courses of study in M.Phil./P.hd). programme, registration can be made at any time during the year.

The closing date
The closing date application forms is 11th December 2006.
